What makes this a better option than boarding a boat in Chelan?
For one thing, boarding in Chelan limits your options. Only one of the two passenger ferry services picks up in Chelan, but ALL of your options are in play if you board at Field’s Point. It can also save you time and money, so for many it’s a no brainer to start your uplake journey here!
Why Choose Field’s Point Landing
Good question. Here are a few reasons you may prefer to embark on your uplake adventure from Field’s Point Landing instead of Chelan:
- Choices – If you choose Field’s Point, you can elect to ride on any of the commercial boats operating on Lake Chelan. If you board in Chelan, you eliminate the option of riding the popular Stehekin Ferry.
- Convenience – Many folks are driving from far away – places like Seattle, Portland, Spokane, or even other states. For these folks, it takes the same amount of time to drive to either the Chelan dock or the Field’s Point dock. However, choosing Field’s Point will eliminate 18 miles of boat travel, saving an hour or more of travel time!
- Security – All of the parking at Field’s Point Landing is inside of a gated lot, and an attendant is present when the gate is open.
- Economical – The cost of parking at Field’s Point Landing is less expensive than the Chelan lot. Current rates are $9/day, or $45/week at Field’s Point vs. $11/day, $66/week in Chelan. Discounted rates available for longer stays (months/year).
